WEED – On Thursday, October 9 beginning at 7:00 pm, The Mount Shasta International Film Festival will hold their annual Gala Party at the Community Center in Mount Shasta to kick off the 5th annual Mount Shasta International Film Festival. Films will be shown October 10 through 12 at the Coming Attractions Theatres in Mount Shasta, and on Sunday, October 12 at the College of the Siskiyous Kenneth W. Ford Theater in Weed.
“This years’ film festival showcases more award winning documentaries and feature films than ever before, with six filmmakers coming to town to interact with the audiences after the showing of their films. The Festival will build on our desire to work within the entire community, by giving free tickets to Hospice workers, the elderly, low income families in Siskiyou County, and Veterans and their families. We will also be showing a free family film and provide a free filmmaking seminar on Sunday, October 12 at COS. The seminar will be presented by Jerry Deal, who wrote, produced and directed ‘Dreams Awake,’ which was shot on Mt. Shasta and other locations in Siskiyou County,” said Jeffrey Winters, Director of the Mt. Shasta International Film Festival.
Tickets are available for purchase from Village Books in Mt. Shasta (cash or checks only) until October 9. Beginning October 10, tickets will be sold at the Festival in the lobby. For credit card purchases and “Will Call” tickets call (800) 926-4865, extension 204.
