Bears and Miners are winners on Day-2 of Gold Nugget Jamboree

The Mt. Shasta Bears defeated the Klamath Union Pelicans 18-5 on Thursday afternoon at the Gold Nugget Jamboree in Yreka.

Kaden Riccomini had six RBIs in the five-inning game. Bodie Kindley drove in three runs.

The Bears threw Kaimana Ferguson, Ian Allen and Hunter Stock. Ferguson started on the hill, and was credited with the win.

Mt. Shasta (4-3) faces Del Norte (0-1) at 10:30 am on Friday.

The Yreka Miners defeated Del Norte, 4-3, in the evening game, to go to 1-1 at the Jamboree.

Yreka trailed 2-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, but was able to send the game to extra innings tied 2-2.

The Miners won the game, 4-3, in the eighth, when Garrett Leach dropped down a bunt that the pitcher couldn’t handle, allowing Jeremy Persing to score from third base.

Dawson Fraley notched the win in relief. Eamon Velarde was the starter.

Yreka (4-2) plays Klamath Union (0-1) at 2:15 on Saturday.
