MOUNT SHASTA – The Mt. Shasta Bears soccer team improved to 3-1 in the Shasta Cascade League with a 5-0 win over the Trinity Wolves, last Thursday.
John Holst curved in a corner kick at the 22-minute mark to give the Bears the 1-0 lead.
Nine minutes later, Jordan Kiser, playing in his first game, headed in a cross from David Castaneda. Alastair Curley made it 3-0, going into the half. Andrew Campbell had the assist on Curley’s goal.

The Bears thought they had a sixth goal, when a direct kick by Zack Morris found the back of the net, but the official whistled the end of the match while the ball was in the air—something not normally done.
The Bears and Wolves are tied for first place in the SCL at 3-1, with Weed in third at 3-2. The Bears travel to Burney on Tuesday, and host Etna on Thursday.
