The Butteville elementary boys basketball team completed a successful Yreka Elks Tournament by winning the “A” Division bracket. With wins over Weed, Scott Valley and then Yreka in the finals, the Butteville boys team moves on to the SCAL Small School tournament to be played in Grenada this weekend. Butteville was the SCAL Small Schools regular season champion with a 5-0 record.

Led by 8th graders Caleb Perry, S’sven Walker and Trevor Jackson the 8th grade trio played aggressive and quick. (more…)

Both the Grenada Wildcat boys and girls teams won the SCAL Small Schools league tournament at Butte Valley Elementary School, last weekend.

The Wildcat boys defeated Dunsmuir Elementary in the championship game, 35-33. In addition to winning the tournament, the Wildcats are a perfect 19-0 this season.

The Lady Wildcats edged Butteville, 21-19, in the girls championship game. (more…)

DORRIS – The Butteville Eagles boys basketball team won the Siskiyou County Athletic League small schools tournament last Saturday, capping an undefeated 15-0 season.

The Eagles defeated Dunsmuir in the championship game, 39-36. Dunsmuir led by eight points at the half, but the Eagles were able to hold Dunsmuir scoreless in the third quarter and turn the tide in their favor.
