    Here’s what Eagle coach Billy Hefflinger had to say about this week’s Subway Eagle Players of the Week.

    Dalton Iveans, an outfielder, was 4-10 in a double-header against Butte College with 2 RBIs, with one being a game tying base hit that led to a Siskiyous 7-6 win. This win keeps them in a tie for 2nd place in the Golden Valley Conference with Butte College. Iveans for the year is batting .325 and is 4th in the conference in batting average and leads the conference in RBIs with 29. (more…)

    Here’s what Eagle coach Billy Hefflinger had to say about this week’s Subway Eagle Players of the Week.

    Dixon Marble got the win versus Lassen College throwing 8 innings and giving up 1 earned run while striking out 3 batters in a 15-2 win.

    Eduardo Martinez has caught all 25 games this season and has helped our pitching staff by calling great games this past weekend versus Feather River College. Eduardo also threw out 4 base-runners in route to Siskiyous winning 2 out of 3 games versus Feather River College helping the Eagles to be in a 3-way tie for second place in the Golden Valley Conference.

    Martinez will be able to continue to catch for Marble as they both have signed Division-I scholarships at Arkansas Pine Bluff. (more…)

    At halftime of the Lady Eagles first round, 91-87, playoff win over Chabot on Saturday night, the College of the Siskiyous announced the team’s Golden Valley All Conference and All State selections.

    Space is still available for students who wish to register for a late-starting First Responder Medical class at COS. First Responder Medical (EMS 9065 / #3247) will begin Saturday, March 23 and will continue to meet weekly until May 11, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 5:50 p.m. at the Weed Campus in the Emergency Services Training Center room 8-113.

    The First Responder (FR) provides basic life support to patients in the emergency setting. The First Responder works in environments such as the ambulance, fire department, or search and rescue squads. This course provides the instruction necessary to prepare the student for the EMT First Responder Certification examination. It fulfills all the training requirements set forth by the state for the First Responder certification (NDA). (more…)

    College of the Siskiyous women’s basketball coach Tom Powers’ pick for the Pepsi of Mt. Shasta Lady Eagle Basketball Player of the Week is Anna Cameron.

    Cameron had a triple-double against Lassen last week, with 21 points, 10 boards, and 10 assists. She also scored 21 points in 23 minutes of playing time against Butte.

    College of the Siskiyous women’s basketball coach Tom Powers’ pick for the Pepsi of Mt. Shasta Lady Eagle Basketball Player of the Week is Brianne Burnside.

    Burnside had 12 points, 5 boards, 2 assists and 2 steals against Feather River last week.

    “(It was) her best game of the year,” said Powers.

    Cameron scored a career high 34 points against Shasta on Saturday.
