2017 NSCIF girls basketball playoff points rankings D-IV – D-VII as of 2/13

The NSCIF released updated 2017 girls basketball playoff points rankings on Monday.
Division-IV (top 12 make playoffs)
Yreka (14-11) is 10th. U-Prep (17-8) is number-one.
Division-V (top 16 make playoffs)
Mt. Shasta (20-4) is 2nd. Etna (14-7) is tied with CORE Butte (18-5) for 4th. Durham (19-2)  is 1st.  Note: CORE Butte’s schedule is still ridiculously lame.

2015 NSCIF Volleyball Playoff Points Rankings as of 11/2/15

The North Section released updated 2015 Volleyball Playoff Points Rankings on Monday. The top 16 teams in Division-IV, V and VI make playoffs. However, in addition to being ranked in the top 16, teams must be at least .500 in either overall record, division record or league record to qualify.

Bulldogs make 8-man playoffs, will look to upset South top-seed Princeton; Redding Christian is North top-seed

Butte Valley, Happy Camp and Hayfork football scrimmage

The Butte Valley Bulldogs hosted the Happy Camp Indians and Hayfork Timberjacks for a scrimmage in Dorris on Saturday.
Butte Valley, last season’s North Section 8-man runner-up, opens up at home next Friday against the Greenville Indians.
Happy Camp is at Elk Creek on Friday.

North defeats South in 8-man all Star game, 28-6.

The North defeated the South 28-6 last Saturday at the 2014 Lions 8-Man Al Star Football game at Shasta College.
The North has also dominated the South the past few years during the regular season and playoffs, with the North winning the section championship the last five years.
