Yreka Little League would like to invite returning minor and major league players to participate in fall baseball. Fall ball is an informal program in which players work on skills and play ‘pickup’ games. All players ages 8-12 are encouraged to participate in this fun event. There are no practices or extra commitments, all your player needs to do is show up with a glove ready to play. Fall ball will be held on Fridays in September (9/9, 9/16, 9/23 and 9/30) starting at 5:30 pm. If you would like more information please contact Allison at 905-1213. (more…)

A fantastic run for the South Siskiyou Little League All Stars came to end in Shasta Dam City on Monday night as they fell to the champions from East Redding, 8-6, in the second championship game. South Siskiyou battled through the losers bracket to finish second in the tournament.

East Redding put up five runs in the top of the first inning to take early control of the game. South Siskiyou went into the sixth inning trailing by four runs, 8-4, and was able to close the gap to two at 8-6, but could not complete the comeback.

According to Coach Kale Riccomini, “Kaimana Ferguson pitched 4 2/3 strong innings, and Hunter Stock and Logan Scholberg made three outstanding plays in the outfield to help keep the game close.”

Courtlen Cates went 2/3 at the plate, and scored twice. Kayden Crisci was also 2/3, and scored a run. Kole Riccomini pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

South Siskiyou had forced a second championship game by defeating East Redding, 12-5, on Sunday night. (more…)

Update: South Siskiyou 9/10 Little League All Stars finish second in District-1, after losing to East Redding in the second championship game, 8-6.

“The kids played great,” said Coach Kale Riccomini via text on Monday night.

South Siskiyou defeated East Redding 12-5 in first championship game, on Sunday night, but battling through the losers bracket meant they had to beat East Redding twice,

The South Siskiyou 9/10 Little League All stars pounded Corning on Saturday night, 20-6, to advance to the District-1 championship game on Sunday, July 10 at 6:00 pm at Shasta Lake City. South Siskiyou will take on undefeated East Redding, needing to beat them twice to claim the crown. East Redding defeated Corning, 5-4, in the winners bracket to reach the championship game.

YREKA – The South Siskiyou 9/10 Little League All Stars advanced to the District-1 championship round on Friday night with a 16-1 win over Yreka.

South Siskiyou jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, and then added six more runs in the second inning.

REDDING – The Yreka Little League 12-year-old All Stars defeated South Siskiyou, 12-0, on Thursday night to advance in the District-1 tournament losers bracket.

Yreka took complete control of the game in the bottom of the second inning, putting up nine runs. Yreka added two runs in the third inning, and another in the fourth.

Jacob Weiser notched the win for Yreka, fanning five, walking three, and allowing one hit. Wesier also scored two runs, drove in a pair of runs, walked twice, and went 1/1 with a double. Jan Henson was 2/3 with a run and three RBI. Devin Wells knocked in a pair of runs, scored a run, and went 1/2. Tyler Hedin went 1/1 with a run and a double. Tyler Wagy was 1/1 with a double, an RBI, and a walk. Jacob Gross scored twice and went 1/2 with a walk. Dawson Fraley was 1/2 with a run and an RBI. Caleb Gardner went 1/2 and scored a run. Brandon Swenson hit a double, drove in a run, and scored, going 1/3. Anthony Esparza was 1/2. Jeremy Persing reached twice and scored twice. (more…)

YREKA – The South Siskiyou 9/10 All Stars team dominated Foothill, 10-1, on Tuesday night in the 3rd round of the District-1 Little League tourney.

South Siskiyou put up single runs in the first and second innings. Foothill scored its only run in the top of the third inning, making the score 2-1.

South Siskiyou put the game away with a five run explosion in the bottom of the fourth inning, and then added some insurance with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. (more…)

YREKA – After defeating Shasta Dam in the first round of the District-1 9/10 Little League All Star tourney on Saturday, South Siskiyou found the going a bit tougher against a hard hitting East Redding squad on Sunday at Ringe Field.

East Redding jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning via a 2-run big fly.

South Siskiyou put up a run in the bottom half of the frame, making it 2-1. (more…)

YREKA – The Yreka 9/10 All Stars put up three runs in three different innings to outscore the West Redding All-Stars, 9-8, in the second round of the District-1 Little League tournament being held at Yreka’s Ringe Park on Sunday.

Yreka jumped on top 3-0 in the bottom of the first inning. West Redding scored a pair of runs in the top of the second inning, but Yreka came right back with three more runs in the bottom half of the frame, to extend it’s lead to 6-2.

West Redding, however, fought back with three runs in the third inning and another in the top of the fourth inning to knot the contest at 6-6. (more…)

MOUNT SHASTA – The South Siskiyou 11-year-old All Star team had a rough start to the District-1 Little League tournament on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Cottonwood All Stars, 21-0, in four innings. (more…)

YREKA – The South Siskiyou 9/10 year old little league all-star team trailed Shasta Dam, 5-3, going into the bottom of the sixth inning of Saturday’s opening round District-1 Tournament game. However, they were able to tie the contest, 5-5, on an RBI single by Kole Riccomini, sending the game to extra innings.

Shasta Dam put up a run in the top of the seventh to take a 6-5 lead.

Kayden Crisci started the South Siskiyou comeback bid with a walk to lead off the bottom of the seventh. Crisci went to second  on a hit by Gage Kinkade. Crisci later scored the game-tying run on a sacrifice fly by Kaden Riccomini. (more…)

The Yreka Little League Majors champion Stidham Trucking Dodgers laid claim to the Siskiyou County crown on Saturday night with a 7-3 win over the Skinner’s Roadside Truck Repair Red Sox. The Red Sox are the South Siskiyou Little League Majors champions. (more…)
