Cowboys and Cowgirls from all over the west competed in the Scott Valley Bank sponsored CCPRA Rodeo at the Siskiyou Golden Fair.

“The fair rodeo is one of the annual highlights and 2012 was nothing short of fun in the mountain sun,” said Fair CEO, Cliff Munson, “The stock was excellent, the contestants ready and the clown, Brian Potter, was one of the best acts ever”.

For 2012 the event champions included; Calf Roper – Blake Hirdes, Turlock; Steer Wrestler – Casey Minton, Witter Springs; Breakaway Roper – Lizzy Cupples, Turlock; Barrel Racing – Roxie Jimeniz, Auburn; Team Ropers – Walt Rodman and Anival Guerrero, Galt; Saddle Bronc – Australian Michael Maher; Bareback Rider – Casey Meroshnekoff, Cottonwood; and Bull Rider Jordan Spears, Redding. Cowboys and Cowgirls from all over the west will be in Yreka California on Saturday August 13, 2011 to compete in the Scott Valley Bank sponsored CCPRA Rodeo at the Siskiyou Golden Fair.

Four Star Rodeo Company from Cottonwood will produce the fair rodeo and provide the rough stock. Four Star’s herd has some of the rankest bulls and horses in the rodeo business.

Each year, generous fair sponsors provide top-notch buckles to the winners in each event and a specialized roping bag is given to the all-around winner. This year’s sponsors include Best Western Tree House Inn; Hi Lo Café, California Outdoor Properties; PremierWest Bank; John Brinton Well Drilling; Rex Club; Scott Valley Bank; Dr. Bruce Riger; Cross Petroleum; Black Bear Diner; Medical Center Pharmacy & Compounding; Yreka Immediate Care; Outlaws Saddles and Silver, Clarity Medical Spa; Fawaz Farming; Friends of the Fair.
