Cowboys and Cowgirls from all over the west will be in Yreka California on Saturday August 13, 2011 to compete in the Scott Valley Bank sponsored CCPRA Rodeo at the Siskiyou Golden Fair.

Four Star Rodeo Company from Cottonwood will produce the fair rodeo and provide the rough stock. Four Star’s herd has some of the rankest bulls and horses in the rodeo business.

Each year, generous fair sponsors provide top-notch buckles to the winners in each event and a specialized roping bag is given to the all-around winner. This year’s sponsors include Best Western Tree House Inn; Hi Lo Café, California Outdoor Properties; PremierWest Bank; John Brinton Well Drilling; Rex Club; Scott Valley Bank; Dr. Bruce Riger; Cross Petroleum; Black Bear Diner; Medical Center Pharmacy & Compounding; Yreka Immediate Care; Outlaws Saddles and Silver, Clarity Medical Spa; Fawaz Farming; Friends of the Fair.

The Siskiyou County Mutton Busting Championship will lead of the evening with the winners from the six local fairs all competing for the overall Siskiyou County championship buckle and bragging rights.

A local event favorite, Siskiyou Saddle Cow, will see six teams, two from Scott Valley Pleasure Park May Rodeo, two from the Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo and two from the Scott Valley Old Time Rodeo compete for the coveted title of Champion.

This one action packed night of California Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association fun will start with Mutton Busting at 7:00 pm in the Scott Valley Bank Grandstand. Slack will be run Saturday afternoon in the grandstand and will be open to the public.
