Turner wins Hurdles at Chico Twilight meet, plus other results and photos

Chico Wildcat Jena Turner won both the 100m Hurdles (15.01) and the 400m Hurdles (1:02.68) last weekend at the Chico State Distance Carnival & Twilight meet. She was also part of the Wildcat’s 4x400m Relay Team that finished 2nd (3:59.33).

Brummett is a Cowgirl, signs at New Mexico Highlands

Eagles send six to CCCAA State Championships, former Yreka Miner going as well

The College of the Siskiyous Eagles track and field team is sending six athletes to the CCCAA State Championships this weekend in San Mateo.
Elijah Marta won the men’s Javelin (65.34 m, 214-04), and Kelsey Shaw (45.63, 149-08) won the women’s Javelin at the NorCal Championships last weekend at American River College.

Former Dunsmuir Tiger Jake Mekeel signs with East Central University

Former Dunsmuir Tiger Jake Mekeel signed his National Letter of Intent last week to play baseball for the East Central University Tigers.
ECU is a NCAA Division-II school located in Ada, Oklahoma. The Tigers play in the Great American Conference. They were 22-19 this season overall, and 12-13 in conference.

The Shasta College Knights (40-7) won the first game of the CCCAA State Softball Championship in Bakersfield on Friday night. With former Mt. Shasta star Kayla Spini in the circle, the North two-seed Knights defeated the South one-seed Riverside Tigers 4-3.
