Etna (7-3) slipped one spot to 5th in Division-IV, trialing Quincy (7-2) and ahead of Esparto (4-5).

The Northern Section CIF released updated volleyball playoff points ranking on Monday.
Dunsmuir (9-8) remained ranked 7th in Division-VI, ahead of Greenville (8-10) and behind Princeton (10-8). Butte Valley is 12th, Happy Camp 15th, and Tulelake 18th. The top 16 teams make the playoffs.

The North Section CIF released the first football playoff point rankings of the season over the weekend.
Etna (7-2) is currently in the best position among Siskiyou County teams, ranked fourth in Division-IV, just ahead of U-Prep (5-2) and right behind Portola (7-1). Weed (1-8) is ranked tenth in D-IV

WEED – The Etna Lions visited the Weed Cougars on Friday night. The Etna varsity won 44-6, and the Etna JVs won 14-6.

Jorgensen notches another third place finish

ASHLAND, Ore. – Last Saturday at the State of Jefferson Cross Country Invitational, Yreka Miner Kevin Jorgensen earned a third place finish, for the second meet in a row. Jorgensen’s time was 16:33.96, about 12 seconds behind winner Drew Jordan of North Medford (16:21.12).

Bears tighten grip on SCL reigns
