The title of this little article is “Introducing Sarah Gross,” but the reality is that Sarah has already done a pretty good job of introducing herself through her great photos on SiskiyouYouth.com of the Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo and the Etna Old Time Rodeo the past couple of weeks.

Sarah’s photography abilities first came to my attention while I was substituting in Kris Prusko’s Digital Photography class at Yreka High School a couple of years ago. I knew then that she had some serious talent.

For the first time in a few years, I wasn’t able to make it to the Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo. However, I suspected that Sarah would be there watching her favorite bull rider, Clint Knowles, and taking photos. So, I asked her to provide me with some shots.

Well, they turned out great, and I love her artistic approach to photography. So, I asked her to join the SiskiyouYouth.com team as a weekly photo contributor. Her first shoot in that capacity was last weekend’s Etna Old Time Rodeo. As expected, the photos are excellent.

A graduate of YHS, Sarah is currently a full time student at the College of the Siskiyous. She gives credit to her photography teacher for her abilities behind the lens.

“I developed a love of photography my senior year when I decided to take a photography class with Mr. Prusko at Yreka High School. He taught me many new skills and helped me develop a good eye.” (more…)
