coffee-break-b.jpgThe College of the Siskiyous Choral department is gearing up for another semester of great music. Both the Concert Choir, which meets every Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm, and the Ladies’ Chamber Choir, which meets every Monday and Wednesday from 2:00-3:30 pm, are accepting new members.

The concert choir will be honoring members who have been with the choir for at least 15 years by letting these singers choose their favorites from over the years.

“It will be a concert of music chosen by the singers, themselves,” said conductor Elaine Schaefer.

Singers wishing to join the concert choir this semester may sign up for MUS 5, code # 18143. The first rehearsal is set for Wednesday evening, January 13, in rehearsal hall T2 in the theater building.

The concert choir is already planning, also, for their concert next December which will be a “countdown” of Siskiyou County’s favorite Christmas Carols. Anyone in Siskiyou County can vote for his or her favorite carols by emailing Elaine Schaefer at:  schaefer@siskiyous.edu.

The Ladies’ Chamber Choir will be preparing their own concert of music “for women, by women, and about women.” Ladies’ interested in joining this choir should call Elaine Schaefer at 938-5315.
