WEED - The College of the Siskiyous announces the following scholarship opportunities:

The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Undergraduate Scholarship: Two awards of $3,000 each are available. Deadline for filing an application is April 1, 2009.  Visit http://www.acwa.com/news_info/scholarships/#acwa for more details. Eligible students must be California residents attending selected California schools full time as a junior or senior during the current academic year. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 1 of each year. Information is also available by calling ACWA at 916.441.4545.

The Clair A. Hill scholarship (Undergraduate): Each year a $5,000 scholarship, sponsored by CH2M Hill, is awarded to a deserving student. The program is administered by the ACWA member agency that received the Clair A. Hill Water Agency Award for Excellence the previous year. In 2008, Orange County Water District was honored with the Clair A. Hill Water Agency Award for its innovative “Groundwater Replenishment System”.  Deadline for filing an application is February 1, 2009. The Water Law & Policy Scholarship (graduate): This is a $7,000 award and is for graduate students who are majoring in law, policy or public administration and have a focus or concentration in water resources. BigSun Scholarship: The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. A $500 annual scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.
