WEED -  College of the Siskiyous Resident Adviser Amanda Bates is teaming up with Ty Speck, Student Lodging Coordinator to organize a fundraiser for Locks of Love, an organization that provides human hair wigs for patients undergoing Chemo-therapy.

The pair plans to get community members and every campus club involved to help sell Ty’s hair, which is currently 22 inches long. The first ten inches will be donated.  For an additional five inches, $1,000 will need to be raised and $500 more for an additional five inches.  If a total of $2,000 is raised between October 21 and October 27, Amanda will buzz off Ty’s hair on October 28 in front of the student center and all students, staff and faculty.

Those in the community who are interested in participating in the fundraiser by also donating 10”or more of hair should contact Ty Speck at 530-938-5237. To donate funds, please make checks payable to Locks of Love and mail to: Locks of Love Fundraiser, The Lodges, 800 College Avenue, Weed, CA 96094.
