COTTONWOOD – The Dunsmuir Tigers varsity track team finished fourth at the North Section CIF Division-IV championships, on Friday. Tulelake was first. The Lady Tigers were seventh.

Tiger Cory Knowles won the 200m (24.38) and was third in the 100m (11.88). Nate Gonzales took third in the Triple Jump (37-04.25). The Tiger 4×100 Relay team finished third at 47.15 (Justin Shuler, Matt Norton, Nate Gonzales, Corey Knowles). Jordan VanWilgen finished third in the 800m (2:13.35) and the High Jump (4-08.00).

The Lady Tiger 4×100 Relay team were the favorites coming into the D-IV championships and they delivered, edging out University Prep by .03 seconds (56.00 – 56.03) to claim victory.  Theresa Kessler won the Discus (93-08). Katie McIntyre claimed a third in the Long Jump (14-11.50). Samantha Schroeder was third in the 100m (14.01).
