The College of the Siskiyous Eagles softball team opened Golden Valley Conference play by sending the invading Corsairs sailing home with a pair of losses on Friday.

The Eagles had a 7-0 lead over Redwoods (0-2, 8-12) in the first game of the double dip, but the Corsairs came back to take an 11-10 advantage in the seventh inning.

Siskiyous won the game in the bottom of the inning, 12-11, when Hannah Newman drove in Kaly Alik from 3rd base.

With the contest tied 4-4, Ashley Cain launched a 2-run big fly in the sixth inning of game-two that gave Siskiyous a 6-4 win.

Kendall Moser recorded both wins in the circle.

Siskiyous (2-0, 7-9) is scheduled to play non conference doubleheaders at Gavilan (8-16) and San Jose (12-7) on Saturday and Sunday.
