bookstore-text-click-300-july.jpgYREKA—Entry deadlines for the 2009 Siskiyou Golden Fair are approaching! Be sure to get your entries into the fair office before the deadlines so you don’t miss out on winning top prize for your photography, jams and model rockets or the chance at winning the grand champion market hog or dairy heifer.

The Siskiyou Golden Fair is the premier showcase of all of the talents and cultures of Siskiyou County. It is a wonderful place to show off all that you can do from sewing and baking to growing herbs and vegetables to creation of fine art and photography.

The entry deadline schedule is as follows: Feature Booths, due in the office by 5:00 pm or postmarked by July 10; Horses, Arts & Crafts, Cattle, Cavies, Goats, Home Arts, Poultry, Rabbits, Sheep, Swine, and Vocational Education must be received or postmarked by July 17. The final closing date for the remaining departments, including Ag-Hort, Scarecrows, and Floriculture is July 24. No entries will be accepted after the deadlines.

“If you are using your local post office on the deadline day, be sure to have the envelope hand-stamped by the post office,” says fair CEO Rebecca Desmond. “If you don’t, your entry form may leave Siskiyou County without a post mark and it will be postmarked in Redding on the day after the deadline and will not be accepted by the fair.”

Exhibitor Handbooks are available on the fair’s website at www.sisqfair.com or at the following locations: All PremierWest Bank branches; all Scott Valley Bank branches; Scott Valley Drug in Etna; Pioneer Press in Fort Jones; Scott Valley Feed in Greenview; Siskiyou Pellet Mill in Grenada; Evan’s Mercantile in Happy Camp; Chevron Station in Hornbrook; Quigley’s Store in Klamath River; Last Shastina CSD office in Lake Shastina; Sunset Dinner Train in McCloud; Cortright’s Market in Montague; Chamber of Commerce, Frank’s Fuel and the Tree House Inn in Mount Shasta; Seiad Valley Store in Seiad; Chamber of Commerce, Edgewood Custom Interiors in Weed; Chamber of Commerce, L&M Rentals, Tri-Counties Bank and the fair office in Yreka.
