EOPS (Extended Opportunities Programs and Services) is accepting applications

EOPS is a student support program for educationally and economically disadvantaged students. It is designed to provide opportunities in higher education for students. The program provides services and resources such as: personalized counseling and advising, transportation assistance, grants, book vouchers ($400), meal cards and school supplies. To be considered for EOPS, the student must meet ALL of the following eligibility criteria:

1. Be a California resident
2. Enrolled full time (12 units or more, unless approved by DSPS for less units)
3. Not have completed 70 degree applicable units of college level course work – transcripts from other colleges must be attached to application
4. Qualify to receive a Board of Governor’s Grant (BOGG)
5. Educationally disadvantaged (ONE of the following must apply):
a. Did not qualify for minimum level math, reading or writing as required for an Associate’s Degree OR
b. Did not graduate from high school or did not obtain a general education diploma (GED) OR
c. Graduated from high school with less than a 2.5 GPA OR
d. Previously enrolled in remedial education courses OR
e. Be a first generation college student (neither parent completed a BA or BS) OR
f. Verified foster youth or former foster youth OR
g. English as a second language (ESL) student
