Etna’s John Whelan and Tulelake’s Logan Herman made their marks at the Burt Willaims Classic track and field meet on Saturday at Central Valley High School. Whelan won the 1600m race (4:32.03) and Herman won the 3200m race (10:21.03). Herman was also second in the 1600m (4:51.91).

Other top-five varsity finishes for Siskiyou County competitors

Remi Ewens, Dunsmuir: 2nd in the Long Jump (12-07.00) and Triple Jump (28-08.00)

Andy Nadig, Etna: 2nd in the High Jump (5-06.00)

Jeff Rhoades, Dunsmuir: 4th in Shot Put

Kylee Baley, Tulelake: 5th in 800m
