norcal.jpgYREKA—In an effort to support local service men and women, the 10th DAA Friends of the Fair hosts a Letters From Home booth at the Siskiyou Golden Fair each year. Fairgoers stop by during the fair and write letters to specific service members or just to “any soldier” and the Friends make sure the letters get sent to local service members stationed throughout the world.

“This endeavor was started by the Fair in 2004 and the Friends of the Fair eagerly embraced the program when we started our group,” said Friends of the Fair president Vivien Willis. “This is a great way to honor those serving our country away from home while we are all enjoying the Siskiyou Golden Fair. We want to make sure they know we are thinking of them always.”

Names and addresses of local service members can be sent to the fairgrounds at 1712 Fairlane Road, Yreka 96097, faxed to 842-4724 or emailed to friendsofthefair@sisqfair.com. Forms are also available on the fair’s website at www.sisqfair.com
Please join the Friends of the Fair in honoring our service men and women during the Siskiyou Golden Fair, August 12-16.

Letters From Home can be found at the Information Booth in the center of the fairgrounds.
