The 2010 fall semester has just begun, but there is still time to register for many late-starting classes.  A brand-new Introduction to Journalism (ENGL 25 / #7644) class will begin on Tuesday, September 7 at 3:00 pm in the Weed Campus Life Science building, room 3. Jackie McNamara will instruct the class.  Ms. McNamara has worked as both freelance and as a staff writer for a daily paper writing everything from profiles and feature stories to theater and restaurant reviews.

This new course was developed in response to the dedicated efforts of the COS Journalism Club. In this course, students will learn skills critical to reporting and writing for print media. Course content includes interviewing, attending events, reporting, editing, taking photos, designing and working collaboratively – a complete hands-on experience writing and producing the college newspaper. Anyone interested in media will benefit from this class.
