This year’s theme, “A Blast With Memories To Last!” is true to form as everyone has a blast at the Fair and makes memories that last a lifetime.From fantastic food, exhibits, and entertainment to carnival rides and live animals, there’s something for everyone at the Siskiyou Golden Fair. Families who are looking for a bargain will find fun, food, and folly at a fair price: right in their own back yard.  Budget-conscious offerings are plentiful, from cooking demonstrations to pig races and all things fun in between.

Kid-Friendly/ Family-Friendly Fun
This year’s fair offers a host of kid-friendly activities, including:

  • GASCAR Crazy Animal Races and Farmyard Follies – This fun attraction features a variety of animals in full race mode and entertainment frolics. Sponsored by Nor Cal Products.
  • Humphrey’s Barnyard Fun– Great agriculture-based fun for kids from Mother Goose’s magic shows to creating and taking home a famous Dirt Baby. Sponsored by Fairchild Medical Center.
  • Great American Petting Zoo – Great cool spot in the shade for all ages to pet some fun animals from the everyday to the exotic. Sponsored by Nor Cal Products.
  • Kids Games – At 10 a.m. on Kids Day with PJ the Clown, sponsored by McDonald’s. Lots of great prizes.  
  • Carnival Rides – Paul Maurer Shows returns with the new Super Shot ride! Get coupons between now and August 11 for all-day riding wristbands at just $16, good for any one day at the fair. Wristbands will be $26 during the fair.
  • Live Cooking Demonstrations– Get great recipes and tips from local cooks and chefs using local ingredients in the Howard Trivelpiece Ag-Hort Building.
  • Kids Town – A great place for parents to take rest and children to have some wonderful fun. Make music, bowl, golf, play in the sand box!
  • Music, music, music – Local and regional bands will play each night on the PremierWest Bank Mall Stage.
  • Cowboy Poetry – Poet Tony Argento will make you chuckle with his witty cowboy poetry throughout the fair week on the PremierWest Bank Mall Stage.
  • Livestock – Spend some time in the barns looking at the project animals that the junior livestock exhibitors have worked so diligently on.  Also check out the senior livestock exhibits featuring prize livestock from our own Siskiyou County ranches.

  • Pepsi presents Clay Walker with Williams & Ree on Thursday – Ticket prices $25, $20, and $15
  • PremierWest Bank presents Xtremely Amped motocross rock show on Friday – Ticket prices $15, $12, and $9
  • Scott Valley Bank presents pro rodeo on Saturday – Ticket prices $14 and $12.
  • McDonald’s presents the SCMA Destruction Derby on Sunday – Ticket prices $11, $9 and $7.

Food, Glorious Food
The entire family will enjoy a cornucopia of culinary delights at the fair, from on-the-go favorites, such as corn dogs, curly fries, and funnel cakes to the local favorites cooked by your neighbors. Nonprofit food booths include:

  • YMCA/Siskiyou Opportunity Center – Fresh baked potatoes with all the toppings
  • Karuk Booster Club/Karuk CASA – Tasty traditional Indian tacos
  • Siskiyou Cattlewomen – The best barbecue beef sandwich around

About the 10th District Agricultural Association

The 10th DAA is a state agency under the California Department of Food & Agriculture and is governed by a nine member volunteer board of directors appointed by the Governor. The Siskiyou Golden Fair is the premier event produced by the Association every year and is the longest running annual community event in Siskiyou County. The Association operates on 80% locally raised funding with 20% assistance coming from the state. The Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds has been at its present location since 1927 but started in 1880 in Fort Jones.

The 10th DAA remains committed to providing the most beautiful fairgrounds in Northern California and a true hometown country fair along with other community events.  More than $3 million is generated at the fair each year for the Siskiyou County economy.
