The Siskiyou Knights will host the Yreka Chargers this Saturday at Mt Shasta High School in a Siskiyou County North/South rivalry that is sure to be exciting.
The Knights traveled to Corning last Saturday and did not fair well against the Lions in a record high 108° day. The Knights were tested this day and showed they have more heart than any team taking the field against them. They continue to improve and build character.
The Junior Midgets suffered their first league loss 33-7. They were out of character the first half, but did have a strong second half. Coach Chip Layton chalks this up to a great learning experience, “our team continues to grow and is coming together as a family, it is what our staff has been working towards all season; a loss like this will certainly go a long way to preparing us for a strong second half of the season”.
The Midgets showed the greatest display of heart, having only 12 players. “These guys left everything on the field, and then some. They continue to hit hard and even when they have run out of gas, they keep going after it; I couldn’t ask for any more” says Coach Scott Stock.
After a day like this, the Knights are hungry for some victories and are sure to play some exciting games against Yreka. Game times this Saturday are 8:45, 10:00, 12:00, 2:00, and 4:00. Come out and support the Siskiyou Knights.
