Lady Eagles roll over Cougars

cos-v-lassen-volleyball-7-front.jpgWEED – If you like a hard fought battle with a dramatic finish, Monday night’s volleyball game between the College of the Siskiyous Eagles and the Lassen Cougars wasn’t for you. The Cougars never stood a chance…sort of like a doughnut versus a steamroller.

COS dominated all three games from start to finish beating Lassen 25-16, 25-7, and 25-14. The only real question was whether or not the floor would have to be wbs-web-generic-300.jpgreplaced after the Lady Eagle hitters were done for the night.

Unofficially, Laura McMahon had 14 kills and a pair of blocks. Amber Franko and Kinzy Towry each had seven kills. Franko had two aces, and Towry had a couple of blocks. Ashley Spalding notched three kills, an ace, and a block. Samantha Stoneback contributed a pair of aces. Setter Stephanie Batchelder had too many assists to count.

COS travels to Eureka to take on Redwoods on Wednesday, November 12, and finishes the regular season at Butte on Friday, November 14. COS is 4-4 in the Golden Valley Conference and 20-9 overall.
