WEED – The top-seeded College of the Siskiyous Lady Eagles pushed their record to 43-3 with a sweep of the Yuba 49ers (16) in the first round of the North Region playoffs. COS pitcher Jackie Imhof tossed a no-hitter to shut out the 49ers, 5-0, in game-one. The Lady Eagles won 11-1 in game two of the best of three series.
The Lady Eagles scored one run in the first inning of game-one. As it turned out, that was the only run they would need. Shawna Mayo led off with a walk, and moved to second base on a hit by Ali Paz. Mayo scored when Katie Zauner reached on an error.
In the second inning, Nikki Kemper led off and reached on an error by the Yuba third baseman, went to second on error by the shortstop, and advanced to third when Yuba’s defense went to sleep. Kemper scored when Mayo reached on an error. Mayo went to second on a passed ball, and took third on a fly ball out to left field by Brittnee McNeely. After Paz walked, Zauner drove in McNeeley on a 6-4 fielder’s choice, giving COS a 3-0 lead.
The Lady Eagles upped their advantage to 4-0 in the fourth inning, when Kemper drove in Crissy Watts with a double.

Yuba scored its only run of the series in the first inning of game-two, on an error and two hits.
COS promptly tied it in the bottom half of the inning. Catherine Schorn led off with a single, and advanced to second base on a base hit by McNeely. A one-out single from Zauner loaded the bases. Schorn scored on a passed ball to tie the contest
