cos-v-dvc-lassen-4-front.jpgWEED – The College of the Siskiyous Lady Eagles hosted the Diablo Valley College Vikings and Lassen College Cougars, on Saturday. It took the hosts just over an hour per match to clean house and send the Lady Vikings and Lady Cougars packing, with a pair of 3-0 sweeps.

The Lady Eagles beat DVC 25-17, 25-20, and 25-11. Their domination of Lassen was even greater, with wins of 25-15, 25-13, and 25-12.

y-ad-1.jpgAgainst DVC, Kinzy Towry led the attack with 12 kills, and a pair of aces. Laura McMahon had five blocks and four kills. Setter Stephanie Batchelder tipped her way to seven kills. Katie Zauner blocked a pair, and had five kills. Amber Franko joined the party with four kills, two blocks, and an ace. Ashley Spalding notched three aces, two kills, and a block.

COS spread the wealth around against Lassen, with five or more kills by four different players. Megan McMahon had seven kills, with twin sister Laura McMahon nailing five kills, and a block. Zauner had six kills and three blocks. Franko had an ace and five kills. Towry ripped three aces, and had four kills. Spalding had a couple of aces and three kills. Yreka High School graduate Lauren Young recorded a kill from the back row.
