ETNA – The varsity Etna lady Lions easily repelled the Lost River Pirates volleyball team on Tuesday, winning the match 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 27-25).
The Pirates picked up the first point of game-one, but that was the highlight of their visit. With the score 1-1, Annaleisa “ace-o-matic” Nadig took the serve and ripped three straight aces to put Etna up 4-1. By the time

For Etna, Nadig had 11 aces and six kills. Claire Pynes notched 14 kills, four aces, and three blocks. Tandy Thackeray had 11 assists and Emily Loogman had seven helpers. Abby Travis was in on four blocks.
The Lady Lion JVs also won their match, 2-1. Etna had a strong effort in game-one, winning 25-18. Lost River rebounded in a hard-fought second game to win 25-23. The Lady Lion JVs came from behind in game three to win 15-13.
