YREKA – The Yreka Lady Miner JV bats came alive last Friday against the Anderson Cub JVs, leading to a 16-6 win.
Tianna Cruz pitched a complete game from the circle, striking out eight Cubs. Cruz also contributed with the bat, hitting a base clearing triple over the left fielder’s head in the fifth inning with the bases loaded.
Tailer Johnson showed her speed, going 4/4 and scoring all four times.
Danci Burch also had a great game, according to Yreka coach Rick Landrum, reaching base every time she was up to bat, and also scoring each time. Alyssa Andrews’ bat is still hot. She added two hits.
Tailer Johnson went 4/4, with four runs. Danci Burch was 2/2, with 3 runs, and a double. Makayla Lindley was 1/2, with two runs and two walks. Haley Weldon also went 1/2, with two runs and two walks. Rachel Luetke hit a double, and took a pair of walks. Alyssa Andrews went 2/4. Tianna Cruz was 1/3, with three RBI, and a triple.
The Yreka JVs’ overall record is 13 -10 -2.
