Lady Miner JVs lose a heartbreaker to West Valley, despite Cruz’ no-hitter

“We lost a heartbreaker, but battled to the end,” said Yreka coach Rick Landrum.
Yreka pitcher Tianna Cruz tossed a no-hitter for the Miners and struck out 12 batters in the process.
“Tianna is just getting better and better with every outing on the mound,” said Landrum.
Alyssa Andrews led the Lady Miners at the plate going 3/3. Cruz, Tailer Johnson, Rachel Luetke, and Harlee McEwen each had a hit.
On the defensive side, Landrum pointed out a couple of key plays.
“Makayla Lindley made a perfect throw back to the catcher on a double steal to get the runner out at the plate, and Alyssa Andrews made a clutch catch in the outfield to keep the game close,” said Landrum.
The Lady Miners take on the Anderson Cubs on Friday at 4:00 pm.
