REDDING – Yreka’s Carrie Turner won the Long Jump (16-06.00) and Kelsey Robberson took the Pole Vault (10-00.00) to win the NSCIF D-I  championships, on Friday. Both athletes will be competing at the North Section finals at West Valley High School in Cottonwood on Friday, May 29.

Turner and Robberson were the only varsity winners for Yreka at the division championships. Turner was second in the Triple Jump (34-03.50). Carrie Scott won the junior varsity Discus (114-09) and Alexis Yaple won the JV 200m. Yaple was also second in the 100m Hurdles (16.88).

Kevin Jorgensen was the top finisher for the Yreka varsity boys, placing second in the 800m (2:00.18) and third in the 1600m (4:32.98). David Bigelow was second in the Pole Vault (12-06.00), and Manny Barragan was third (12-00.00).

Sarome Eng brought home a first place finish in the JV Triple Jump (41-08.75). Eng was also second in the Long Jump (20-00.50) and 200m (23.50).
