Lions walk off with win over Cubs in 8th

PurrFectPawsADWith the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the eight inning, Mason Dickson jacked a walk-off home run, for a 3-2 Etna Lions’ victory over the Anderson Cubs.

Etna put two runs on the board in the fourth inning. Brice Black walked and scored, and Kevin Stapleton singled and scored.

The visitors came back with two runs in the 6th inning to tie the game on an error, walk, four steals, a fly out and a ground out.

With two down in the eighth inning and two strikes, Mason Dickson launched a big fly for the Lion win.

Steve Lampert started the game for Etna and pitched four scoreless innings, striking out five batters. Josh Theofanides notched the win in relief. He had three strikeouts.

Etna (1-0) goes to Central Valley (0-1) on Thursday. The Falcons lost their opener to Foothill 7-3.
