nsa-in-story.jpgCOTTONWOOD – Etna senior Sarah Loogman won the North Section Pole Vault championship with a height of 10-00.00, holding off challenges from three competitors with marks of 9-06.00—including third place finisher, Kelsey Robberson from Yreka.

Several other Siskiyou County athletes were at the championships held at West Valley High School on Friday. Yreka Lady Miner senior Carrie Turner was second in both the Long Jump (16-05.00) and Triple Jump (33-08.75). Junior Kevin Jorgensen finished second in the 800m (1:59.85) and the 1600m (4:28.94).

Yreka’s other top-five finishers were David Bigelow who was third in the Pole Vault (12-03.00), and Christina Korcek in the 200m with fifth place (27.38).

Etna sophomore Emily Loogman took third place in the 100m Hurdles, and junior Annaleisa Nadig was fifth in Shot Put (31-04.25). Ryan Hicks was Etna’s lone competitor from the boys’ team. The junior finished fourth in the High Jump (5-10.00).
