YrekaTransferNewThe Yreka Miners junior varsity started Friday night off right, defeating the Cascade Christian Challengers 18-14 at Miner Stadium.

Trey Setzer passed to Skyler Lane for a touchdown. Jake Peterson ran for a TD, and Wyatt Beltramo recovered a fumble in the Cascade end zone for the winning TD.

The Miner varsity trailed just 14-7 at the half, but the Challengers took over in the second stanza. Cascade outscored the Miners 20-0, for a 34-7 win.

Yreka’s lone touchdown came on a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Tyler O’Gorman.

The Miners (2-1) hit the road to play the Henley Hornets next Friday. Cascade defeated the Hornets 43-22 in their season opener.
