Okay, so I know what you’re thinking. “What does a hawk have to do with Siskiyou Youth?”
Not much, I guess. But, here’s the story anyway.
My brother and I were up on Humbug in Yreka, when the Red Tail Hawk started flying around at about eye level. It was pretty cool. So, I grabbed my camera from the truck. By the time I had the camera in hand, the hawk had landed in the top of a small oak tree just downhill from where we were standing.
As you can see, the hawk was also a bit interested in what the guy with the camera was doing. It hung out for a couple for minutes and then went soaring in the updraft.
