Scott Valley Bank and the Siskiyou Golden Fair have been partners since the first organized fair was held in Fort Jones in 1859. For many years, the Scott Valley Bank name has been associated with the grandstand, and as naming partner of the CCRPA rodeo. The tradition continues this summer even as Scott Valley Bank transitions to Mechanics Bank, bank employees will proudly be on hand for the t-shirt toss and to enjoy the efforts of all participants while supporting the Siskiyou Golden Fair.
Top Cowboys and Cowgirls from all over the west will be in Yreka, California Saturday night, August 11 to compete in the Scott Valley Bank CCPRA Rodeo presented by Pape Machinery. This year online entries are being accepted on July 31 from 12:00 – 7:00 pm for all events on the CCPRA site – ccpra.enterup.biz. Four Star Rodeo Company from Cottonwood will produce the fair rodeo and provide the rough stock. Four Star’s herd has some of the rankest bulls and horses in the rodeo business. Each year, fair partners provide top notch buckles to the winners in each event and a specialized breast collar is given to the all around winner. This year’s chute MMZ John Britton, Siskiyou Laser Products, Dr. Bruce Riger, Hi Lo Café, Cross Petroleum, Best Western Plus Tree House, Scott Valley Bank and Julie Kuck Lemos Realtor. Event Partners include; Freitas Trucking, Double H Ranch, California Outdoor Properties, Bob’s Ranch House, Finley Farms, Outlaw Saddles & Silver in memory of Frieda Wilson, Century 21 Realty, Fawaz Farming, Clarity Medical Spa, Siskiyou Central Credit Union, Luke’s Yreka Drug, CINCH Jeans and Shirts and the all around partner for 2018 is the Rex Club. Entertainment will also include the Mini Buckers presented by Mt. Shasta Title and Escrow.
A local event favorite, Siskiyou Saddle Cow, will see six teams compete – top two teams from the Jefferson State Stampede, the Scott Valley Pleasure Park May Rodeo and the Scott Valley Old Time Rodeo in July. This traditional, action packed night of California Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association action will start with mutton busting at 7:00 pm in the Scott Valley Bank Grandstand. Slack will be Saturday afternoon in the grandstand and will be open to the public.
