WEED - The Eugene Ballet Company (EBC) will bring the holiday classic The Nutcracker to the College of the Siskiyous Weed Campus, Kenneth W. Ford Theatre, on Saturday evening, November 15, at 7 p.m. The Eugene Ballet Company invites all interested Siskiyou County school-age children (ages 6 to 18) with dance experience to audition to dance with the company in this performance.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, October 4, (times and roles are listed below) at Nuria’s Dance Academy, 612 Mt. Shasta Blvd., in Mt. Shasta. The first rehearsal date will be Saturday, October 11 and all children chosen to perform with the Eugene Ballet Company are required to participate in the weekly rehearsals.

3:30 to 4:20 pm. Flowers 14 years and older (girls)
4:30 to 4:45 pm. Soldiers 14 to 16 years (boys/girls)
4:45 to 5:15 pm. Baby Mice 6 to 8 years (boys/girls)
5:15 to 5:45 pm. Angels 8 to 9 years (girls)

Children auditioning should plan to arrive at the audition at least 20 minutes prior to the
audition time. Late-comers will not be allowed to audition. Boys and girls are welcome to audition for all parts except “Waltz of the Flowers,” which is only open to advanced female students. Students should arrive at least 20 minutes prior to audition time to fill out registration forms. The Eugene Ballet Company will charge an audition fee of $5 per child auditioning for the production in order to defray the audition cost.

Girls should wear class uniform, or a solid colored leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes, and hair should be secured in a bun. Boys should wear white T-shirt, black tights and black ballet shoes. All students audition in flat technique shoes, except “Waltz of the Flowers”, who audition on pointe.

Tickets for groups of 20 or more people will cost $15 per person.
