WEED - In celebration of the opening of the holiday season, the College of the Siskiyous Performing Arts Series one again presents The Nutcracker performed by the Eugene Ballet Company (EBC), on Saturday evening, November 15, at 7:00 pm, at the Weed Campus Kenneth W. Ford Theater.
A timeless tale for the Christmas season, the ballet brings an evening of enchantment and a playful, fairytale setting that has delighted thousands of children and adults of all
ages. The Eugene Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker features sets and costumes created by Disney designer Don Carson. The Eugene Ballet travels with a full company of 24 dancers and annually presents 50-75 performances and programs for regional touring and outreach.
The production will feature Siskiyou County children performing various roles in the performance. The children’s ages range from six to 18 years of age with levels of experience ranging from beginning to advance. Nuria Llovet, owner, director and choreographer of Nuria’s Dance Academy in Mt. Shasta has been working with the children on a weekly basis, and is very pleased with the dedication and enthusiasm the children have shown during rehearsals.
