prefair2.jpgYREKA - On June 28, 2008 at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds, the Junior Fair Board will be hosting their annual Pre Fair event. In past years, Pre-Fair has focused on helping junior livestock exhibitors hone their showmanship skills. This year the event will showcase not only livestock, but all still exhibits as well.

Junior Livestock Exhibitors will have a chance to learn showmanship and fitting techniques from local experts. Exhibitors may also participate in a friendly showmanship competition where they can compete to win prizes. A final quality assurance training will also take place for any junior livestock exhibitor that may need to complete the program in order to sell in the auction.

Young and old can come to Pre-Fair and learn what it takes to enter still exhibits like photography, vegetables, flowers, cakes, cookies and more. There will be demonstrations and exhibit examples available for viewing. Fair staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and help with the entry process. Entry forms may also be turned in at Pre-Fair to meet the July entry deadlines.

A breakfast and lunch concession will be provided by the Junior Fair Board and will include steak sandwiches, hotdogs, drinks, doughnuts and coffee.

Registration for Pre-Fair will start at 8:00 am, with the event beginning promptly at 9:00 am. The event is free for everyone. For further information, contact the fair office at 530-842-2767, or visit www.sisqfair.com
