It has to be a weird feeling around College of the Siskiyous. On Saturday afternoon, for the first time in several years, the Eagle women lost a Golden Valley Conference home game.

Siskiyous and Feather River College were tied 17-17 at the end of one quarter. The Eagles led 47-45 at the intermission, and 68-63 after three periods.

However, FRC outscored COS 25-16 in the final frame for the 88-84 win.

With four minutes to play in the game, it was a 77-77 tie. A 3-ball from Nichelle Laffoon and a steal-n-score by Anhelica Shanrock put the Eagles up 82-77 at the 3:30 mark.

The next eight points belonged to FRC, who held an 85-82 advantage with a minute to go in the game. Kacey Cain sunk a pair of freebies with 40 ticks left on the clock, bringing the Eagles within a point, 85-84. But, those were Siskiyous final points.

Shanrock led COS with 27 points, including four treys. Laffoon dropped in five 3-pointers, and put up a total of 21 points. Natalie Karlsson added 16 points. Siskiyous shot 11/20 from the charity stripe.

Laffoon grabbed 11 boards, had five assists and two steals. Karlsson had four helpers, and three swipes. Ariana O’Connor pulled down 11 rebounds.

Feather River’s Va Draunidalo hit six 3-pointers and had 31 total. FRC was 16/23 at the stripe.

COS (0-1, 15-4) is at Shasta (0-1, 11-8) on Wednesday. Shasta lost to Lassen (1-0, 13-7) on Saturday 70-65.
