YREKA - The Siskiyou Golden Fair has something for everyone and will celebrate that diversity in five special days at the fair.
It begins on Wednesday, Aug. 6 with Nestle Waters Community Night. The fair opens at 5:00 pm and there is free admission for everyone. All the exhibit buildings will be open, and there will be free entertainment on the PremierWest Bank Mall Stage, along with the KSYC Siskiyou Superstars Talent Show in the Scott Valley Bank Grandstand.
Thursday, Aug. 7, is McDonald’s Kids Day and kids 12 and under get in free all day. The day starts off with Kids Games at 10:00 am, with Lanky the Clown’s fun entertainment all day long. Pepsi Bottling Co. of Mount Shasta will present Clay Walker and Steve Holy in the Scott Valley Bank Grandstand that evening (tickets required).
Friday, Aug. 8, is Medical Center Pharmacy & Compounding Senior Day offering free admission to all seniors age 62 and over all day. The highlight of the day is the Senior Program with Lanky the Clown and cowboy poet Tony Argento at 1:00 pm on the PremierWest Bank Mall Stage. That night, PremierWest Bank will present the Xtremely Amped! motocross show in the grandstand (tickets required). Friday is also Teen Night in the new Pacific Power Technology Pavilion featuring contests and prizes.
Saturday, Aug. 9, is Ernie Rizzardo Landscaping Western Day featuring great family fun for all. Be sure to check out the Jim Davidson Memorial Pee Wee Showmanship in the livestock area at 5:00 pm. Scott Valley Bank will present professional rodeo by the Four Star Rodeo Co. in the grandstand that night (tickets required).
Sunday wraps up the fair with KTVL Family Day featuring the Junior Livestock Auction at 10:00 am. McDonald’s will present the Destruction Derby at 4:00 pm produced by the Siskiyou County Motorsports Association (tickets required).
