The Etna Lady Lions varsity track and field team won both the Shasta Cascade League and the Division-III championships this season. One of the big reasons for the team’s success is sophomore speedster Emily Loogman.
At the SCL championships, Loogman won all four of her events—100m, 400m, 800m, and 100m Hurdles. The 400m, 800m, and 110m Hurdles weren’t even close, with Loogman winning all of them by well over two seconds.
Loogman opted out of the 100m at the D-III championships, but smoked the field in the 800m and 100m Hurdles. Loogman also won the 400m, holding of a tough challenge by
Loogman has the fourth fastest 100m Hurdles time in the North Section this season at 16.64. Her best 400m and 800m times are in the top-10 in the section.
In addition to track, Loogman also played on Etna’s varsity volleyball team, and was a standout player on Etna’s JV basketball squad.

Winners receive Impact T-shirts that were designed by Golden Grotto. The T-shirts and award are cosponsored by Siskiyou Youth and NorCal Classic Hits radio 102.3/101.7
