y-ad-1-click.jpgWEED – College of the Siskiyous head baseball coach Billy Hefflinger announced Wednesday that 10 of his players will be headed to four-year colleges to play ball. All will receive athletic or academic scholarships, or both.

For Coach Hefflinger and Assistant Coach Tom Rosemeyer, Eagle players moving on to complete a four-year degree is one of the main goals of their program.

“College of the Siskiyous for these players is the first step towards completing their four-years of playing college baseball and getting their four-year degrees. This is something that myself and Tom work hard at. We believe that there is a four-year college for all of our players in our program. We want them to have success at COS, but also we want them to have success when they move on,” said Hefflinger. “Like I tell all of the players and recruits, it is our goal as a program to win. But more importantly, we want you to graduate with your degree from COS, and then graduate with your four year degree. You can win and focus just on baseball, but when your career is over you’re going to have to find a job and start paying bills and join the real working world. All of these players have worked hard on the field and off. Tom and I are very proud of all that they have done here at COS and are looking forward to seeing them be successful in life after COS.”

Nick Reynolds, Mississippi Valley State University, NCAA D-I
