Ward helps OIT win Cascade Conference XC Championship

Former Yreka Miners cross country standout Mallory Ward helped the Oregon Institute of Technology win the Cascade Conference women’s XC championship on Saturday. The Owls had 53 points. College of Idaho was 2nd (68) and Southern Oregon University 3rd (69).

Ward placed 24th (19:48.90) in the 5K race held in La Grande, Ore. She was the #5 runner for the Owls.

As a freshman last season, Ward ran for Rouge Community College, placing 7th at the NWAC championships.
