COTTONWOOD – Yreka Miner Kevin Jorgenson finished third at the West Valley Coed Invitational, last Friday. Jorgenson’s time was 16:54.79 for the three mile varsity men’s cross country course, just over 11 seconds behind winner Daniel Johnson of University Prep (16:43.73). Nick Read of Colfax was second at 16:50.13. Etna’s best finisher was Javier Hansen in fifty-second at 20:03.99.

The top local finisher in the women’s varsity three-mile was Etna Lady Lion Jilinda Franklin in twenty-first place (21:39.54). Lady Miner Carrie Turner was right behind Franklin with a time of 21:44.76.

Yreka’s Chase Brown was the top local in the men’s JV 2.2 mile in eighteenth place (14:36.36). In the women’s JV race, it was AmMathee Stott in thirty-second, with a time of 18:37.98. Top finisher for Etna was Brittany Dean in forty-sixth (20:08.06).
