norcal.jpgYREKA – The Yreka senior Powder Puff team easily handled the junior squad on Wednesday evening at Miner Stadium. Senior quarterback Jaylene Phillips finished out her stellar Powder Puff career with four touchdown passes. Ali Andreas hauled in three of Phillips’ tosses, and Lizzy Stone grabbed one.

Phillips connected with Andreas for a 15-yard strike as time expired in the first quarter, putting the seniors up 7-0. With 4:40 to in the fist half, Phillips hit found Stone for another TD of about 15 yards, making it 14-0.

Andreas scored two more TDs in the second half on passes from Phillips—one half way through the third quarter and one at the 5:40 mark of the fourth quarter. Tia Villani also had several catches early in the game for the seniors, and Erika Kimball picked off a pass. The seniors were coached by Mike Pendley.

While the Junior Powder Puff team wasn’t able to get much going on the field, the junior cheerleaders dominated the halftime festivities with high flying stunts and a well choreographed show.
